मनो होच्चक्राम ।तत्संवत्सरं प्रोष्यागत्योवाच कथमशकत मदृते जीवितुमिति ।ते होचुः यथा मुग्धा अविद्वांसो मनसा प्राणन्तः प्राणेन वदन्तो वाचा पश्यन्तश्चक्षुषा शृण्वन्तः श्रोत्रेण प्रजायमाना रेतसैवमजीविष्मेति ।प्रविवेश ह मनः ॥६,१.११ ॥

The mind went out. Having stayed away a year, it came back and said, "How could you live without me?" They said, "As simpletons live, not knowing with the mind but breathing with the breath, speaking with speech, seeing with the eye, hearing with the ear, begetting with the seed — so we lived." And the mind entered in again.
