How so? It can be known from the purport of the first three ślokas of the fourth chapter, Jñāna Yoga. Did not Kṛṣṇa Paramātma himself declare that he first taught this yoga to the Sun, then that it was passed on to Manu, that from Manu it reached Ikṣvāku, and that in this way it has come down by succession? So this is the beginningless Gītā. Understand that it is not of today, nor of that day. The Gītā is a text in which sādhana is the chief thing. Whoever holds fast to sādhana will without fail attain siddhi. Insistence has no place in sādhana; there must be no obstinacy in it. Perseverance is essential, but stubborn persistence is of no use. In every chapter of the Gītā, siddhi is set out, and alongside it the sādhanas.
