In plain words

The Paramātma laughed at Arjuna's doubt. “Brother-in-law! Arjuna! I speak only the truth. Whether you believe it or not, the truth neither swells nor shrinks. I am present equally in all. But not all look on Me with an equal eye! How so? In winter, at night, people in villages and such places light fires. Only those who sit close to the fires are free of the cold. More than that, they are free of darkness and enjoy the light as well. But if others stand far from the fire and complain that the cold has not gone, that darkness has closed in, that no light has come their way, how can that difference be the fire's doing? To argue on this ground alone that the fire makes distinctions is meaningless and senseless, and void of Viveka, is it not?”
