In plain words

The mind heats up. Our eyes are never opened. Only through God's grace do we find Ānanda. So, to make this human life worthwhile, we must first of all give thanks to God. But in modern times the parents themselves are spoiling their children. They give them unbridled freedom. They give them needless opportunities and comforts. They do not punish them for their mistakes. They do not rebuke their sins. We must put some check on the injustice, the wrongs and the conduct they engage in. We must never excuse children who lack discipline. There should be Prema for one's sons, but not blind love like Dhṛtarāṣṭra's. Whatever injustice and wrongs Duryodhana and the others did, Dhṛtarāṣṭra went on forgiving them all, and rejected even Kṛṣṇa's teaching. He swaggered, ‘My sons are great.’ Some think that if they have no sons, they will go to the hell called Put. A hundred Kauravas were born; but in the end, what an evil fate befell them?

A father's joy in his son is not born the moment the son is born; when people see that son and praise him, that day is a father's joy.

It is not when a son is born that we should rejoice. We should rejoice on the day he brings a good name. But today, when a son is born, people are overjoyed. The moment he is born they hand out sweets. We must satisfy our parents for having given us birth. We should expect nothing from our mother. We should ask only for her Prema. That Prema itself turns into divinity. Wicked sons who want nothing but property are as good as dead. We must become ideal sons. Mothers must strive to set their children on the good path. When the individual improves, society improves.
