In plain words
So if you want to receive good and happiness in the future, you must honour your parents in the present. That is reflection, reaction, resound. We must not be careless in this.
Beauty, youth, the strength of the senses: do not strut because you have them, brother! There lies ahead, and soon, the crocodiles' feast called old age. (Tai tai …)
You cannot move about, the eyes grow dim, on the face wrinkles have come, the head has turned grey; when little children call you an old monkey and snigger at you, you snap at them, puppet! (Tai tai …)
We must not swell with pride and swagger at the sight of our beauty, strength, wealth, power, fame and standing. These powers and abilities do not last for ever. This beauty, this youth, this body are not permanent. We are unable to recognise this truth. Life is slipping away. You are sinking into worldly pleasure. All these are gone in a moment. We must not wish for such a life at all.
When the individual improves, society improves
Śaṅkarācārya too said so. How long have you any hold over this skin? The strength of the arm, the strength of wealth, the strength of the body drift away like clouds. Trusting in all these, you forget the strength of God, which is true and eternal. However many births we take, we cannot avoid attaining divinity. Without attaining divinity, we find no Ānanda in this world. You may build great mansions and put in ACs. At first it feels pleasant. The body cools down.
