In plain words

How is one to look for where they are? They are not things that are seen. They are not things that are heard. They are what feed us the fruits of karma. They appear only when you look at them with the inner sight; they are not seen with the outer sight alone. Today we are being well trained. Wherever you look, we are saying Human Values must be developed. They think it is some plant brought from outside and grown. No, no. They are not things brought from somewhere. They spring up from within us.

What is Bhakti like today? Strangely, he goes up to the plough-cattle that serve him and beats them hard; seeing a stone bull, he worships it with devotion. Have you seen? We bow and bow devoutly to the Nandi that is stone and walk round it. We catch hold of a living cow and beat it hard. Today we must love living men. Not pray to a lifeless stone. Today the hand that does good is very great. That is why the hand that sings the Name of God and does good to others is very great. Every man must without fail grow human values. They are in his own self. But there must be someone who reminds him of them. ‘My dear! There are human values in you’: a person is needed who reminds one so. To go towards that is the true society. The principle of going towards oneness is society, they said. There is no need to revile one another. You must not hurt one another. You must not cause one another pain. The unity in all is itself a divinity. If we dwell on that oneness, humanness grows within us.

But today it is each one for himself, each on his own Yamunā bank. Between man and man many divisions and differences are arising. We cannot attain unity itself. We cannot achieve even worldly unity. How then can we gain the Ānanda that is turned within? So, for anything at all there is a measure. But for God there is no measure. That is why He came to be named Aprameya. God is the One whom no measure can hold. You can measure the ocean. God's Prema, God's Satya, God's Dharma, God's Śānti cannot be measured. Each may imagine as it occurs to him. These are one's own feelings, not God's feelings. God has no hatred of any kind for anyone, no envy of any kind, no violence of any kind. Such a principle of Prema we must attain. To attain it, it must come from God alone. God Himself is the Main Stores for all these. Gaining it, we must be ready to receive by that grace. Along with that, we must strive to make our life fruitful on the worldly path too. Whatever you speak, speak Satya. In truth, speaking Satya today is very easy. Asatya is very hard. But somehow, such is their misfortune. Speaking Asatya is hard, and yet they keep striving for just what is hard.
