In plain words
Asatya is the very thing they try to speak with ease. They wish for hardship itself. But Satya, which comes to them in comfort, they are not fortunate enough to have at all. Satyaṃ janavirodhāya. Asatyaṃ janarañjanam. Today all love Asatya. But they do not love Satya. They do not long for Satya. Make the effort needed to love Satya. As far as possible, as far as your capacity goes, try to speak the truth. Whatever situation you are in, see that you do not speak Asatya. At no time, however hard, forget your Dharma and your duty. Natural Śānti will surely come to you.
Love all. Prema is no one's property. It is the very form of God. You have the right both to give that Prema of God to all and to receive it yourself. If even a little selfishness enters that Prema, that Prema becomes soiled. It is only from a clean mirror that our image shows clearly. If you smear the soot of this impurity, impure feelings and impure thoughts, on the mirror called our citta, how will your image appear? So, first of all, whether in this college or in institutions of learning, you must first teach children to speak Satya. You must teach them the Dharma of carrying out their duty. You must wish them to be always calm. Troubles, losses and sorrows keep coming and keep going. Passing clouds. So there is no need to worry about them at all. Have you failed in the examination? Do not worry. Success and failure keep coming on the path of life. Adbhutasalutuṇṭāyi. You must tell them, ‘Go forward and develop your life with Śānti.’ You must give courage encouragement of this kind.
By teachings of this kind you must change the children's minds. Young plants we can shape into as fine a tree as we like. A tree grown thick cannot be bent. In these, old things and foul things are all bound up with the roots. It is not possible at all to set such people right. By this we become people who have wasted time. First of all develop this Bāl Vikās. Start this Bal vikas in Primary school. When we give them teachings of this kind, we fall into doubts amid many kinds of notions, that Bhārata is only a Secular State. What does Secular State mean? Only to respect people of all religions. We must hate no religion. But this Secular State means that you yourself must not be without religion. Hold to your religion. We must not revile or reject other religions in any way at all. That is why this does not belong to any one religion.
