In plain words
Nowhere in the clay are there pots. Clay stays clay. The potter took that clay and made pots. In the pot there is clay, but in the clay there is no pot. The pot is imagined. The qualities are imagined. God is in the imagined qualities, but in God there are no qualities. This is spiritual.
These scientists have brought many kinds of philosophy into the world. Social philosophy. Economical philosophy. Political philosophy. And there is one called spiritual philosophy. What does philosophy mean? This word came from Roman. Phil means Prema. Sophia is what is divine, what has attained divinity. The two together in one make Prema divine. Divine Prema. This is philosophy. Jñāna they call wisdom. Wisdom, Love: that is philosophy. Wisdom they called sophos. The word sophia is Roman: the words phil and sophos. Now the British have said philosophy. There is a great difference between knowledge and Jñāna. Knowledge stays only within a certain limit. Knowledge is worldly knowledge, bookish knowledge, superficial knowledge; but that is sacred, divine Jñāna. It cannot be compared with anything. This they called one's own power. That is, what springs from the heart. Knowledge is what one puts into the head from books, from teachings, from others. This is what I tell you now and then.
Into a head that holds nothing anything at all can be put; a head crammed full of this and that, can that head ever be emptied? Unless that head is emptied, can it be filled with good deeds in this world?
Today in man's head there is not the least room even for an ant to pass. It is crammed so full. He sits in India. As soon as he gets up at dawn he reads the paper and gathers news, "America is like this, Japan like this, Germany like this, Italy like this", and puts it into his head. Because he puts this needless news into his head, the head is turning into a nuisance. What is needed he does not put there. Wisdom is what comes from the heart.
The head is only responsibility. The heart is right. On this right you can do as much as you like. That right is one's own nature. One's own power. If we develop that nature, then whatever country we go to, it does not come under the sway of place, time and circumstance in the least.
