In plain words
It is only through lack of self-confidence that fear comes chasing us. If fear is to leave us, we need fearlessness. When there is fearlessness, fear does not trouble us at all. Today, in every matter in the world, it is fear, fear. This fear troubles us only through the lack of self-confidence. We need self-confidence. That is self confidence. Only when we have self-confidence does Prema spring up naturally in us.
A small example. Only when you have the faith "This is my mother" do you love that mother. Only when you have the faith "This is my wife" do you love that wife. Only when you have the faith "This is my son" do you love that son. Truly, if there is no faith, you do not love. So it is only when faith is first developed that Prema springs up in you. When Prema springs up, then Śānti comes to us. Only when Śānti comes do we understand Satya. Only when we have understood Satya do we gain Ānanda. Through Ānanda alone does Divinity come to us. So they gave Ānanda the first place, saying "nityānandaṃ paramasukhadaṃ". Within man there are five sheaths. The annamaya kośa, the prāṇamaya kośa, the manomaya kośa, the vijñānamaya kośa and the ānandamaya kośa. But the man of today travels only as far as the annamaya kośa. My body, mine, mine; all of it mine, mine. Taking this body as his support, he enters into everything. The body is only like a bubble on water. When it will waste away, when it will come to its end, when it will drop off, when it will fall down, when it will burn away, no one at all can say.
They have set its measure at a hundred years, but do not trust that word in your heart. In childhood, or in the prime of youth, or in old age, or in decrepitude; in the village, in the forest, or in the midst of the waters: where it will be cast off, there is no knowing.
It is not our duty to take as our support this body, which is like a bubble on water, and so to forget the principle of the Ātma, which is eternal, true and spotless.
Embodiments of Prema! Above all, when such sacred Avatāras come into humanity, we must strive to follow the right path, practise it, enjoy it and share it with others.
