Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

He who does not trust himself cannot trust anyone. To believe in oneself is itself the great trust. Through it, one can believe in anything else as well. If you ask who today does not believe in God: it is only the one who does not believe in himself who does not believe in God. So we must regard faith itself as our breath. For one who has no faith, there is no breath. Such a man is a living death: one who, though living, is dead. So we must not live like that. We must develop the divine feeling. So,

Worship Govinda, worship Govinda, worship Govinda, O foolish mind; when the appointed time draws near, the rule ḍukṛñ karaṇe will never, never save you.

In the same way, however much you call all these learnings to mind at the end, they will not protect you. God alone protects all. We must remember the God who protects. But by remembering the one who torments us, we sink still deeper into bondage. So strive for the path that takes you beyond this feeling.
