In plain words

One may escape even the noose of Yama, but no one can escape the noose called attachment.

Fix your mind on Me, be My devotee, worship Me, bow down to Me; uniting yourself so, with Me as your goal, to Me alone you will come.

‘Arjuna! Bow to Me once. Hand over all your troubles to Me. I will look after them. Why are you afraid? Keep meditating on Me alone,’ said Kṛṣṇa Paramātma in the Bhagavad Gītā. In Shirdi too, Bābā: ‘My son! Why are you afraid? Bow with firm faith, and go. You will surely pass,’ He said. That one word was all Śivadās took with him. He came to Bombay. He and his friend, the two of them, sat the examination. After the examination the friend put questions to Śivadās: ‘How did you write it? What answer did you write to such-and-such a question?’ Youngsters do tell one another such things. Śivadās did not answer even one. ‘Hey, you'll fail,’ he said. ‘I will not fail,’ he said firmly. Then the friend said, ‘You gave no answer at all; with what courage do you say you will pass?’ ‘I need no courage at all. Whether I write or not, I shall surely pass,’ he said with firm faith. Then the friend asked again, ‘How can you say that?’ ‘Bābā has said so. Only Bābā's word matters to me,’ he said. That indeed is Satya. He will surely do it. The friend went on mocking. ‘If you write nothing, no Bābā can pass you. It's an utter lie,’ he said. ‘My faith is my own. Among kinds of faith there is blind faith, and there is good faith. Bābā has only one word. ‘Satya is one. So only what Bābā has said matters to me; it is my authority,’ he thought. Mocking again, the friend: ‘Will the food set on your plate get into your stomach? You have to make the effort you are meant to make, don't you! God or no God, nobody can do anything. Your Bābā just said it to you for nothing,’ he said. ‘I wrote correct answers to all the questions.
