In plain words
One bulb may be bright. There is no difference in the current. The strength and capacity in the bulbs called human beings may be less or more, but the current is one and the same. We must see that unity.
Only on the day we give up selfishness will the good of others choose us
One lump of clay, many forms of pots; one gold, many ornaments; one milk of cows, born of many cows; one Paramātma, dwelling in many bodies.
One divinity alone is in all. There is no separate Christian God, Muslim God, Hindu God, American God, Pakistani God. God is one. ‘The one sun is there for all the worlds, one to each.’ Now, in America, they are passing the night-time. But in our country we are passing the daytime. Night and day belong to those places, but the sun is one for both. We must think of unity in this way. Today we are unable to desire the progress of our country, the high standing of our country and its welfare. What is the reason? Selfishness, selfishness. Only on the day we give up this selfishness will the good of others choose us.
If you give up the ego in action and the attachment in enjoying, sacrifice itself is enjoyment and enjoyment itself is sacrifice
‘Na karmaṇā na prajayā dhanena tyāgenaike amṛtatvamānaśuḥ.’ What man has to do is sacrifice alone! In daily life, from daybreak until night, whether it is yoga or enjoyment, it comes only through sacrifice! We are unable to recognise this. But how is there yoga in sacrifice? How is there sacrifice in yoga? If you give up the ego in action and the attachment in enjoying, the two, then sacrifice itself is enjoyment and enjoyment itself is sacrifice.
