Passage 13

In plain words

In the same way, before the strength of God no other strength works. We must develop that strength of God.

Though one has strength of arm and great strength of Buddhi, without the strength of God he becomes helpless. Karṇa, great as he was, what became of him in the end?!

No one else had strength as great as Karṇa's. He had every strength, strength of arm, strength of Buddhi and the rest. But the strength of God did not come to his side.

Without the strength of God, he became a servant.

For lack of the strength of God he was reduced to a servant. So the strength of God is greater than all strengths. That is the true strength. Without that strength, however many strengths you have, it is all weakness! Rāvaṇa had many strengths. He had ten heads. He had twenty arms. He had many, many powers besides. With all of it, what became of him in the end? He did not develop the strength of God. He kept developing worldly strength. That is why in the end he himself was burnt up. How much strength Duryodhana and Duśśāsana had! But they did not develop the strength of God. The Pāṇḍavas were only five. But they were united. So that became a great strength.

Develop the feeling of God, and everything becomes one

Even if there are hundreds, without unity it is only weakness. There are five fingers. Each finger is separate. But when those five fingers come together, any amount of work can be done. Because the five Pāṇḍavas stood as one, they went on winning victory. Vāli and Sugrīva had no unity. They were just two brothers. Because they became enemies of each other, they were utterly destroyed. We must develop unity. All are children of God! Among God's children there must be no hatred of one another. You all know how many families in daily life have prospered by living in unity.
