In plain words
Satya is mother, Jñāna father, Dharma brother, compassion friend; Śānti wife, forbearance son: these six are the kin of men.
Embodiments of Prema!
In this world of nature, in this vast universe, in this physical world, people take the body itself to be the mother of the body. Bodies do not last. Bodies are things that wear away. The body is a thing that burns away. The mother who bore and the son who was born: both these bodies perish! Changing bodies, changing lives, changing relationships: these do not last. For every human being, for every jīva, the true mother is Satya itself!
Satya never changes
Trikālābādhyaṃ satyam. Before you were born, Satya was. This Satya will never change. What does not change, whose form is immortal, whose form is unbroken, which is deathlessness itself: that is Satya. So from ancient times the culture of Bhārata has proclaimed that Satya itself is God. That is, God is the mother; pitā jñānam. Who is the father? Is the father the person who protected the physical body, helped it grow and brought it up? He is only a guardian! But the true father is Jñāna. This Jñāna itself is the form of God. In the Upaniṣads God has been made known by the names ‘Satyam’ and ‘Jñānam’. The mother: Satya. The father: Jñāna. Who are our brothers? Those born before us are our elder brothers. The one born after us, the younger brother, is a brother too. These brothers by the body are not true brothers. In the world of nature they are brothers, yes! But the true brother is Dharma! Satya, Jñāna and Dharma are forms of God.
