In plain words
For empty men with no purity of citta, how can the Ātma principle be within reach? The Ātma principle comes only to a wholly pure Buddhi: this is the path that is true, the word of Sai.
Students!
The people of today do not understand in the least what humanness is, what animality is, what demon nature is, what Divinity is. Divinity, humanness, animality and demon nature are very easy to recognise. He who is a blend of body, mind and Ātma is man. What is an animal? To forget the Ātma and the mind and live only in the principle of the body: that is animality. Those who forget the Ātma, keep body and mind as their aim and crane their necks after the experiences of these two are demons. The explanation is that one who forgets the principle of the body and the principle of the mind, and takes Ānanda as his experience in the Ātma alone, is Divinity. But, being neither animals nor demons, we must at least make ourselves human beings, who experience along the right path the form that is a blend of body, mind and Ātma. All the sādhanas done with the body are impermanent! The body itself is impermanent. All the actions done through the impermanent body are impermanent! All the sādhanas done in the mind, trusting the body as an instrument, are lasting.
