॥॥ ॥॥
In plain words
Do not ask, O Manas, knowing that the more you ask, the deeper it sinks, and that work done without asking goes swiftly. ‖Do not ask‖ Did He not cherish Śabarī, who never asked? Jaṭāyu, who died for His sake without asking, did He not go to him at the last and grant him a good end? ‖Do not ask‖
O Manas! You are no beggar, to go asking. The One you must ask is God alone. God alone is the One who grants to all. Instead, is it your duty to go to a beggar and beg? You are not a begger; you are bigger. We must believe this truth. Only then will our sādhanas succeed. Today, all the sādhanas we do must be sādhanas fit to kill the Manas. You have every right. Pray to God with purity of citta, with purity of feeling, with a holy feeling. God is One! Calling Him Jesus, or Buddha, or Allah, or Rāma, people have given Him all these names, each for their own delight. A small example: today a baby is born. On the third day, if you ask, ‘Mother! What is the baby's name?’, they say, ‘We have not given one yet, mother.’ Not given yet. These names are ones that were given, not ones that came with birth. Do not take the names that were given as your basis. The name you were born with is Ātma. Take the Ātma alone as your basis. Take that alone, so grand and divine, as your basis. Then you can attain the true principle.
No Place without God, and No Thing That Is Not He, Is to Be Seen in the World
Today you must take the right meaning of what is called Dharma, artha, kāma and Mokṣa. Dharma means following the path to attain God, our own true abode. To bring about the good fortune of beholding your own svarūpa is Dharma. To attain this Ātma-jñāna is true artha. To reach the place we came from is kāma. We must not regard all these in a worldly way. These are dharmas for the supreme end. This is the path of nivṛtti. In this world everything runs on the path of Prakṛti.
