Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Embodiments of Prema!

For man there is no tapas greater than Śānti. What is tapas? To enter a fearsome forest, live on leaves and roots, give up sleep and food and dwell in remembrance: that is not tapas. True tapas is Śānti itself! So long as wicked feelings stay in man, they become the cause of sorrow.

By wicked resolves a man comes to sorrow; by true resolves he becomes a good man; he alone who is empty of every resolve attains Śānti: the path that makes Satya known is the word of Śrī Sai.

Man today falls prey to sorrow through craving itself. Desires alone drown man in sorrow. There is a limit to these desires. When all actions are done to please God, these very desires turn into desirelessness. So man can attain Śānti only when he is free of resolves. ‘Śāntitulyaṃ tapo nāsti’: there is no tapas other than Śānti. ‘Na santoṣaṃ paraṃ sukhaṃ.’ In this world there is no happiness other than contentment. So, when we want contentment, we must attain Śānti.

This whole world is the form of God!

The many forms and names we see in this creation are reflections of the One!
