In plain words

Unsteady is life in the world; unsteady are youth and wealth; unsteady are wife, sons and the rest; Dharma and fame, these two, are steady.

This physical life is not permanent. Youth and wealth are like drifting clouds. These too are not steady. Wife and children, kinsmen and friends: all of them vanish in a moment, like lightning. In human life, good conduct and a good name, these two, are permanent. In the world many religions began for the sake of man's welfare, for the sake of the building up of man, for the sake of man's progress.

While the Vaiṣṇavas keep saying Viṣṇu alone is great, while the Śaivas say Śambhu is great, while the Gāṇapatyas declare Gaṇapati is great, while the learned say Śāradā is great, while the Turks over there say Allāh is the mighty one, while all the Śāktas say Śakti, while My devotees say that I am great, while some say all are one, in accord with all religions, the true Brahman is one alone: so you must declare. He alone is Satya, He alone is Dharma, He alone is Śānti, He alone is the embodiment of Prema.

Morality and honesty, acts of charity, Satya and tradition, forbearance and Ahiṃsā are the chief standards in all religions
