In plain words
In the world, only one thing is more valuable than everything else. That is our very life. That is the very thing: Lead me from darkness to light. Once we have come out of this darkness into the light: Lead me from death to immortality. That itself is immortality. How will that immortality come to you? Removal of immorality is the only way to immortality. All the bad qualities are in you. You must rid yourselves of these bad qualities. These six inner foes, called desire, anger and greed, all spring from the body itself. All the holy human values come from the heart. One is the head; the second is the heart. Head only responsibility. Heart right. So fight with right. That is the support of your life. Bring God into that heart. Everything will be set right for you. Do as you are told. When you do not heed what you are told, great danger comes.
They will not heed a good word spoken to them from the heart, but every wicked word they take into their ears; can such people come to know Me? Whatever their learning, what use is it?
Rāvaṇa studied the sixty-four branches of learning. What use was it to study them? But he did not become worthy of grace. All of it went to worldly learning. From studying too many kinds of learning, the sickness of indigestion set in. With that indigestion coming on, he fell ill. Those very things are the vāsanās for the objects of the senses. Rāmacandra too learned those very sixty-four branches of learning. But Rāma kept digesting them all and putting them into practice. That was practice. This was show. Ānanda is not in show; it is in practice. Vālmīki said Rāvaṇa was a fool. Rāma is the embodiment of divinity. What is the reason? He digested what He had studied, put it into practice and went on handing it to society. Rāma's was Practical knowledge. Rāvaṇa's was bookish knowledge. What use is this bookish knowledge? It turns into superficial knowledge. It is of no use. It is Artificial. Bring a plastic rose plant and set it there. Not a single bee will come to it. Because it is made up.
