Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

In the same way your body has nine gates. Through them you must let in only what is sacred. You must use the discernment that asks what is needed and what is not. Only then will you be blessed, be meritorious, be sacred; be supremely holy; attain immortality; experience Ānanda.

The new year brings nothing new. What comes is only the old days; what comes is only the old results. The day new and sacred feelings arise in you, that day is the start of a new year. For many years you have been singing bhajans, doing pūjās, doing service. But has any change come into your heart? Are kindness and consideration arising in you? A heart with kindness is the temple of God. A heart without kindness is a temple of demons! You must become people with kind hearts.

Since you regard this as a new year, I hope, and I bless you, that in this new year new and exemplary feelings may arise in you, and that you may experience Śānti and happiness. I wish that whatever you believe to be good you will teach to many others, and stand as examples. In this new year, push the old feelings and the foul feelings aside. Unless you throw out the old feelings, new feelings will not come in. Take into yourselves the one feeling of God. No other evil feeling will be able to enter. Only then will Śānti come to you. Embodiments of Prema! Hoping that all of you, from tomorrow on, will live in peace and prosperity, in happiness and comfort, I bless you.
