Passage 4

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

You yourselves are embodiments of the cosmic form

Embodiments of Prema! Give up desires and see how much Śānti you gain! You will be able to experience an Ānanda you have never experienced in your life. Śānti and Ānanda are not in things and vehicles; they are in you alone. You yourselves are unable to recognise the Ānanda that is in you. If you cannot recognise even the nature of Mādhava in you, how can you recognise the all-pervading nature of Mādhava? Mādhava is right within you. You yourselves are embodiments of the cosmic form. But you forget your true nature and build up a petty attachment to the body. Why this delusion about a body that does not last? There is no telling when it will collapse, when it will fall away! So push attachment to the body far away and foster regard for the Ātma, which is eternal and true. The Ānanda of the Ātma is the immortal Ānanda itself. It is not something found outside; you must make it spring forth from within you. For this, Prema alone is the main thing. If you foster Prema, you yourselves become embodiments of God. Do not think God exists apart from you. Believe firmly: “I am God.” You are human only in shape; in truth you yourselves are God. Make this belief firm in your heart. Love your parents. Satisfy them. There is no Bhakti greater than that. That alone is true Bhakti.

Embodiments of Prema! Today I have come to Mumbai for just half a day. I am not very satisfied with this. I will come again. Become full of Prema. Make your parents happy. Nourish human values. Then I will be right there with you.
