In plain words
Children who have had the misfortune to lose their father undergo many hardships today. My resolve is to bring such children here, build homes for them, give them schooling and shape them into the finest citizens. I have told our Collector, too, about this. Saying he would certainly help, he has also given the land that is needed. Now we must lay the foundation stone there and have the homes built. My aim is just one: to help everyone as far as possible. Mine is not a nature that hoards or plunders. Every work I do is a great example. So if you come upon children who have no parents, bring them. We will have them given an education. If the father is gone, we will make a fixed deposit of one lakh rupees in the mother's name. With the interest it earns, the mother can bring up her child. The man who read out some padyams a little while ago is the chairman of the Nagarjuna group. I told him, “You must have the homes built quickly and hand them over.” “Swami! Whenever You give the command, I am ready to begin,” he said. We must have a home built for each one. We must shape the children into fine educated people, people of Viveka. Today there are many educated people, but many among them lack Viveka. Along with education there must be Viveka too. I have taken a vow to foster such Viveka in children. Whatever anyone thinks, I pay no heed. What I do is good work. I love everyone. In the same way, you too love everyone. Set your hands to good works. Be people of good conduct. However anyone may spread reports, pay no heed. Carry through the vow you have taken.
Whatever you have held, you have held it fast indeed: stay just so until your hold wins through. Whatever you have wished for, you have wished for it in earnest: keep on worshipping until the wish is fulfilled. Whatever you have asked for, you have asked it outright: do not let go until what you asked for is given. Whatever you have thought of, you have thought of it in truth: do not move away until the thought is fulfilled. unable to bear the pressing, either I must save you, or, losing all sense of the body, you must ask; but to stop halfway in between and turn back is not the devotee's vow.
