In plain words
For God is to be seen wherever you look. It is the true man who is nowhere to be seen. Man in form is to be seen, but man in conduct is not to be seen. The world needs practice very much. Without practice, what is the good of having the form?
Sacrifice is yoga; indulgence is disease
You must not put your trust in the body at all. Regard it as a tool the Paramātma has given you, and with its help carry out your duties properly. You must take part in serving society. You must help those who are in trouble. You must lend a hand to the poor and the helpless. You must grow in Prema towards all beings. You must dedicate your life to Satya and Dharma. In this new year you must let such new and holy feelings arise in you, and begin a new life. But where is new life today? The days pass. One day changes and another comes. But man's feelings do not change. Clothes change, but character does not. One must become a sannyāsī by character, not by clothes. Only one who has given up every attachment is a true sannyāsī. ‘Na karmaṇā na prajayā dhanena tyāgenaike amṛtatvamānaśuḥ’: neither by good deeds, nor by offspring, nor by wealth is immortality won. Only by sacrifice is it possible to attain immortality. But who has the spirit of sacrifice these days? One in a hundred, one in a crore may have it. Divinity is in everyone. But only in one who lives by sacrifice is it plainly seen. So the spirit of sacrifice is utterly necessary for man. He must be one who lives by sacrifice, not one who lives for pleasure. To the one who lives by sacrifice comes yoga; to the one who lives for pleasure comes disease. Sacrifice itself is yoga; indulgence itself is disease. So we must give up indulgence and cultivate sacrifice.
Some keep thinking of Rāma every moment. They fill every particle of themselves with the Name of Rāma. Truly, such people are greatly blessed. Their life alone is a life fulfilled. Every person must think of God.
