In plain words
Joy and sorrow, the two of them, dwell together; to part them is in no one's power. Joy on its own we shall never see anywhere; when sorrow bears fruit, that, they say, is joy.
Embodiments of Prema!
This is the new year. In this way many new years have gone by. But your life alone stays just as old. What is the reason for this? You cannot recognize the Divinity that is in you yourselves. Divinity has taken on the form of Prema in every living being. Prema itself is the true form of God. You must try to recognize such Divinity, lasting and Satya. This itself is your foremost duty. Man today hopes to learn about Divinity. He does dhyāna, longing for the vision of Divinity. But he cannot recognize the Satya that Divinity is right in his home, right behind him, right beside him. What is dhyāna? To follow Satya is itself true dhyāna. He must recognize the Satya that Divinity is within himself. That Divinity, eternal, Satya, wondrous and full of Ānanda, pervades everywhere. To recognize that Satya is man's foremost duty. Every man says that he is trying to recognize Satya. But that effort does not bear fruit. How can he see the Divinity, eternal Satya, that is within himself? He must recognize that there is nothing else in this world greater than Satya.
Embodiments of Prema! Divinity is right in your home, right behind you, right beside you. All that your eye sees is the form of God itself! But you imagine that Divinity is somewhere out of sight of your eyes. Forgetting the Divinity that is in you yourselves, you search outside. Why do you search for the Divinity that is right in your home, right behind you, right beside you, right in your eye?
