Passage 4

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

This is not something you can know by looking. Only when you taste it do you understand its taste. These three, creation, sustenance and dissolution, take place through His own karmas alone. The Vedas have been teaching that God is the master of these three powers. Not the Vedas alone. The Upaniṣads, the Koran, the Bible, the Granth: all these have been telling of the existence of God. Nowhere is anything seen that is without these three, creation, sustenance and dissolution. Anyone at all has to accept this. Any Vedāntin, any scientist, any engineer, of any age, of any country, has to accept creation, sustenance and dissolution. That very thing they called God in the English language. We can recognise the meaning of this creation in God. G, generation (creation); O, organisation (sustenance); D, destruction (dissolution): it becomes possible to recognise this truth when we inquire into each word and search for Satya. Generation is nothing but His own will. Organisation is nothing but His own will. Destruction, too, is nothing but His own decision. Without these three, creation, sustenance and dissolution, the world cannot exist. The world runs by these three karmas. If we want to understand a principle like this, what path should we follow? All of man's resolves arise from the heart alone. When you keep the heart sweet, your words, your gestures, your actions, everything will be sweet as well. When the heart is pure, all your actions take shape as actions that are worthwhile. Man's good and bad, both of them, are nothing but results that arise from the heart. The bad does not come from somewhere else. The good does not come from somewhere else. They come from the heart itself.

Pain and pleasure, both, are bound up together; no one has the power to pull them apart; pleasure on its own we never see anywhere: when pain bears fruit, they call that pleasure.

All is only one. “That which is, is One; the wise speak of it in many ways.” What is, is One alone. To recognise that one Satya, humanness teaches a very easy path.
