In plain words

You must experience, through Bhakti, the knack of filling in that ‘pit’.

Embodiments of Prema! With the same Prema with which you took the trouble to come here, go back to your own homes in comfort. Once you have gone there, if you go on experiencing this Ānanda, you can fill in the ‘pit’ you fell into.

Hardship and happiness both dwell together; to part them is in no one's power; nowhere shall we see happiness apart; when hardship bears fruit, they call it happiness.

So the hardships that come to us come only to teach us equanimity. Embodiments of Prema! The wealth in you that never dwindles is Prema alone! That very Prema is God's property! So make your Prema grow. God's Prema will be your companion and your shadow and protect you in every way. Do not think that all our property and possessions have come from money. Our true wealth is Prema itself! Prema itself! Prema is not something that dwindles. It goes on growing always. Those who have recognised the principle of Prema can understand this Satya well. Yesterday the heart overflowed at the songs you sang as you went from street to street. So when sorrow comes to you, lift up your voice and do nāmasmaraṇa well. Sing the name of God with Prema. Do not be afraid that someone may laugh at you. Whatever anyone may think, you must push fear far away and do nāmasmaraṇa. Only then will the divine strength you need come to you.

Embodiments of Prema! That all of you have gathered here gives Me great joy. I always wish that Ānanda, comfort, happiness and Śānti, all of them, may come to all of you. Today eight thousand of you have gathered here. Go, all of you, to the canteen, and receive Swami's prasādam. Eat your meal in comfort. That very meal will become imperishable for you, and all your hardships and losses will perish. Here everything comes to you with joy, and free.
