In plain words
Students, embodiments of Prema! I know that you keep thinking of Swami all the time. I do not look at whether you do it aloud or softly. For outsiders to hear it, the sound must be a little louder, but I have no need of that. Nothing can come between God and the devotee. In ancient times the ṛṣis used to go to the Himālayas to meditate on God. But wherever you may be, God keeps hearing your prayers. Some devotees: ‘Swami! Keep me in mind,’ they say. Be good. Swami will hear your prayers. Be courageous in everything. You must give no room to faint-heartedness. When you are like that, the power of Sai will arise in you. Whether the name of Īśvara, the name of Kṛṣṇa or the name of Rāma, any of them is one and the same. So whatever name you give, Swami has no objection. In fact, no one can fix ‘this name’ or ‘that name’ for God. By whatever name you call, I answer.
If you are well, that alone is enough for Me
Yesterday a wonderful thing happened. I sent Subrahmanyam of the Larsen and Toubro company and Kondala Rao, the Chief Engineer, to the East Godavari and West Godavari districts on the water project work. While they were doing a survey there in a forest area, Naxalites came. “Who are you? Who sent you? Why have you come into this forest without our permission?” they asked. “We have come wishing for your good, for your welfare. Bhagavān Śrī Sathya Sai Baba has sent us here, to bring you water,” they said, and at that the Naxalites were overcome with astonishment and joy. “We had heard that Swami is doing such great works, but because we live in the forests we do not get to know these things,” they said. After that they stayed with these engineers and pointed out where the pipes were to be laid and where the taps were to be fitted. In the West Godavari and East Godavari districts the water project works are nearing completion.
