Passage 12

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

So we must keep these in check.

Even some clever children, when examinations come, grow anxious whether they will be able to write well or not. As a result, once they go into the examination hall, they cannot write properly even what they have studied. Troubles like these come from worrying for nothing. So you must not worry over any single thing. We must do our own work properly. When we lead a life like this, we need not pray to anyone; we need not go to anyone. Keep your heart pure; fill it with firm faith. You need not tell the world of your joy. What you should believe in, believe in with all your heart. What you should love, love with all your heart. What you should believe in and love is God alone. If such faith and Prema are in you, you can achieve anything. God on one side and the world on the other: wanting both will not work. ‘Riding two horses at once’ is no good. It leads to disaster. We must fix our mind on Divinity alone and place our trust in Oneness. If we live like this, we can achieve anything. Those who seek happiness, who seek Ānanda, must long for God alone. We must not sink down at all in sorrow. If we fill our heart with Prema and pray to God, everything will go rightly.

Embodiments of Prema! Do not change your Prema in any circumstance. Worshipping God is no greatness. Love God.
