In plain words
You regard one person as husband, another person as son, and you see a third person as father. But all these have arisen only from a bodily tie. Who set up these relationships? You yourselves set them up! So they change. True Prema does not change. With such Prema, say ‘Rāma’; say ‘Kṛṣṇa’; say ‘Allah’; say ‘Īśvara’; say ‘Jesus’. Whatever the name you call by, He Himself answers. One says, ‘Rāma is my God.’ ‘Kṛṣṇa is my God,’ says another. Yet another says, ‘Sai is my God.’ Only the names differ; God is one! We grind rice and make dosas; we make idlis. Into it we mix a little sugar and make pāyasam. But the rice is one and the same, is it not! Just so, God is one. He is the embodiment of Prema. Do any work with that Prema, and you will surely reap a good fruit.
Those who call themselves devotees must give up the outlook of difference
You call one another ‘brothers and sisters’. Yet brothers are not separate, sisters are not separate. Physically you may look different. That is only a relationship you have set up for yourselves. All are one. You must not see diversity at all. God is in the old man, and in the little child too. God has no age at all. God has no form of any kind. Only Prema, Prema, Prema … So grow Prema wholeheartedly. Only then will joy come to you. As long as Prema is in us, we are not far from joy. But you are growing differences. Believe in oneness. Then, however many ties and relationships you form, their value keeps growing. Put down one and after it put a zero: it becomes ten; put another zero: it becomes a hundred; put thousands of zeros, and its value keeps growing. But remove that one, and only zeros are left! In the same way, believe the truth that God is one, and then call by any name, utter any number of names.
