In plain words
“Truth is one; the wise speak of it in many ways”: this is the authority of the Veda. Fill the heart with Prema, and then go to any country, think of any name, do any sādhana. Hate no one. “Help ever, hurt never”: this alone is the work devotees must do. While saying, ‘I am a devotee’, you must not make distinctions such as ‘He is mine; you are not mine.’ Whomever you hate, it amounts to hating God Himself. Wherever you go, you must believe that God is in me, with me, around me. Wherever you look, there is only the one God. Believe in that sense of oneness; you will have joy without limit. You have come from many countries. Your forms are different, your names different, your countries different. But here, at least, all are one! With this sense of oneness, all of you be happy from today onward.
Bhajan is our food
You say, ‘Today is my birthday.’ What is a birthday for? It is only the day the body was born. The body is born today and goes tomorrow. But you exist forever. You are not born, and you do not go. “Be always happy”: this alone is my hope from you. Do not let the difference of “mine and yours” come in at all. You sang bhajans here all this while. So many voices joining to sing as one voice gave great joy. This oneness itself is divinity. So there must be unity. Only when unity comes does purity come in you. Purity itself attracts divinity. The white clothes you wear are a sign of purity. Your heart too must be pure, to suit the dress you have put on. The white dress reflects oneness and purity. Instead, if each one wears a dress of a different colour, only diversity shows. Diversity must not arise in us. In dress and in mind alike, all must be joined in oneness. All are one, one, one! So all of you live in oneness, with Prema, close to one another, and happily.
