One day, in the course of conversation, Lakṣmī said to Nārāyaṇa, “Lord! The whole world worships me alone. But not even one in a hundred, one in ten million worships You,” and she teased Him. Then Nārāyaṇa said, “Lakṣmī! They worship Me too. You do not notice it,” and He too teased her. Then Lakṣmī said, “Lord! It is good to know the truth. Come, let us both enter the world and settle it.” Nārāyaṇa too agreed to it.
