In plain words
But the yoginī kept saying ‘that she would not eat from vessels others had used, that she had that as a vow, and that to every house that invited her she would bring the vessels she ate from with her.’ Very well. Every woman kept inviting her, thinking it enough if somehow the ‘guru goddess’ came to her home. So she went to each one's house for a meal, took out of her bag a golden plate, a golden cup and bowls, ate from them, and then left the plate and cup behind for the people of that house; when she did this, every household that saw it began to invite ‘the Mother’. The news spread here and there and reached the agrahāra where the ‘paṇḍit’ was, and the people of that agrahāra too invited this ‘yoginī’ to a meal. Then the yoginī said, “Sirs! If I am to come to your agrahāra, I will come only if you drive out of your agrahāra the paṇḍit who is already in it. Otherwise I will not set foot in your agrahāra,” she said without mercy. In the end, out of their craving for gold, they forcibly sent away from the agrahāra the paṇḍit they had honoured and worshipped so much.
