Passage 9

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Then the yoginī entered that agrahāra, gave her discourse, ate the feasts and gave the golden vessels to the households; and so it went on: to every agrahāra the paṇḍit went, the yoginī went too, had the paṇḍit driven out, and ate the feasts herself. At last, unable to bear these insults, the paṇḍit threw off his guise, became ‘Nārāyaṇa’ and vanished. Seeing that, the ‘yoginī’ too gave up her form, took her own true form and joined Nārāyaṇa. In the course of talk she said, “Well, Lord! Whom does the world worship more? Whom does it honour? Did You notice?” So she asked. Then Nārāyaṇa smiled and said, “Your word is true.” In the same way, today the educated sell even ‘Vidyā’ for money, and for money leave their own country and go begging in foreign lands; is this right education?
