4. Vidyā must bring control of the senses
Physical power can never conquer spiritual power
By the power of its spiritual principle, India has for generations been bringing lasting Śānti and well-being to all countries. That is why, then and now, the supreme aim of the Hindu people has been “May all the worlds be happy.” To keep to this aim, the rulers of those days, the great ṛṣis, the founders of faiths, the paṇḍits, the learned and the chaste mothers sacrificed in every way and, caring nothing for honour or respect, kept proclaiming it and kept living it. However beautiful a rare thing may look on the outside, in the light of the spirit it is without substance. Physical power can never conquer spiritual power.
