Passage 4

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

When Māyā is conquered man can move forward

Sañjaya himself told Dhṛtarāṣṭra, “Where Kṛṣṇa, the Lord of yoga, and Arjuna, the bearer of the bow, are, there victory and prosperity are gained.” Why should we need any other ideal than this? There is no need to strain for victory. There is no call for longing. There is no need to pine for riches. Take Paramātma into your heart. Bear the bow called courage. That is, become pure of heart. Victory and riches are yours. Did you chase your shadow? Even in millions of years you will not catch it. It runs on ahead of you. But if you turn your eyes towards the sun, your shadow will cling to you; that is, your shadow will come behind you, clinging to you. It will act as your slave. Here the shadow is Māyā. As long as you cling to Māyā, Mādhava will not be yours, will not be caught. Make Māyā your slave, and man can move forward.
