It is enough to have trusted Nārāyaṇa's teaching: it is as if you had studied the Sāmaveda. It is enough to have trusted Nārāyaṇa's word: it is as if you had come to know the Yajurveda on this earth. It is enough to have trusted Nārāyaṇa's word: it is as if you had recited the Ṛgveda on the earth. It is enough to have trusted Nārāyaṇa's word: it is as if you had studied the Atharvaveda likewise. When petty feelings have left the mind, when you have held Buddhi steady and unmoving, what more is there to Śivarātri than this, you good people, members of this assembly, honoured for your virtues!
