In plain words
Do you know why you were given eyes? To look at everything? No, no: to see the God of gods, the Dweller of Kailāsa. Do you know why you were given ears? To hear sound? Not at all: to hear the praise of the Lord. Do you know why you were given a mouth? To speak words? To sing the praise of the God of gods, protector of the afflicted. Do you know why you were given hands? To carry morsels to the mouth? The worship of Śiva, purifier of the fallen, to offer with your own hands, friend. Why were you given feet so finely made? To roam the lanes and alleys? Not for that: in the shrine of the Lord who rides Nandi to walk about. Do you know why you were given intelligence? To earn wealth? No, no: that this is a play of four days, to know that naked truth. Do you know why you were given a body? To go round all the countries? The saying, ‘This body is for the good of others’, to put that into practice.
