Kṛṣṇa, playing Your enchanting flute, will You not sing once? Will You not sing, Kṛṣṇa? (three times) So that hard hearts, hearts of stone, may melt and melt and flow as water, will You not sing? (twice) So that in deserts barren of Prema the shoots of Prema may grow, with the fervour of Prema (twice), raining down a shower of the nectar of Prema, so that rivers of Prema may flow, will You not play the song of the flute? (twice) Graced with all her mountains and forests, her heart wide as the ocean with its creatures, with joy blossoming, so that the noble lady Prakṛti, rapt, may dance beside You, will You not play the song of the flute?
