43With the body that has become a living thing, going on from world to world, a man, even while he is eating the fruit of his acts, goes on doing acts and does not stop. 44The body, made of the elements and the senses and the mind, is what goes along with the living one; the shutting off of it is his death, and the showing of it is his birth. 45When the place by which things are taken hold of becomes unfit to see things, that is its going back to the five; and birth is the seeing of things that comes of thinking I. 46As, when the eyes have become unfit to see a thing and its parts, at that same moment both of these, the power of sight and the seer, become unfit to be seers.
47So there is no call for terror, none for wretchedness, none for panic. Having understood the way the living one goes, a steady man should walk here with his clinging let go. 48With an understanding that sees rightly, joined to yoga and to detachment, he should set the body aside and go his way in this world that maya has made.
