By patience, by pity, by friendliness toward every living thing, and by evenness, the Bhagavan who is the self of all is well pleased. When the Bhagavan is well pleased, a man comes free of the strands that belong to nature, free of the separate life he took for himself, and reaches the quiet of Brahman. Woman and man are put together out of the five elements once these are set going, and it is from the coming together of woman and man that things are born here. So it goes on, king, the bringing forth, the holding and the drawing back, out of the crossing of the strands, by the maya of the supreme Self. In all that, the bull among Persons, who is beyond the strands, was only the occasion; and in him this world, showing and not showing, turns about like a piece of iron.

That Bhagavan, his force parcelled out through the flow of the strands by the power of time, does all this and is no doer, kills and is no killer. What the boundless one is about is hard to make out.
