1Then, with understanding risen in them, remembering at once what the one beyond the reach of the senses had said, they left their wife with their son and went out from the house. 2Consecrated to the long sacrifice of Brahman, whose offering is the self in all beings, they went to the shore in the western quarter, where Jajali had come to his perfection. 3Narada, whom gods and antigods alike praise, saw them there, their breath and mind and speech and sight mastered, their seat mastered, their bodies quiet and even, their selves joined to the highest and spotless Brahman. 4When he had come they rose, bowed to him, welcomed him, honoured him as it is laid down, and then, when he was comfortably seated, spoke to him.
5Welcome to you, sage among the gods. It is our good fortune that you have come within our sight today. Brahmin, your going about is for the taking away of fear, as the sun's is. 6What the revered Siva laid on us, and the one beyond the reach of the senses too: we have been caught up in our houses, my lord, and most of it has been let slip.
