Prsni, the wife of Savitr, bore Savitri, Vyahrti and Trayi, and Agnihotra, Pasu, Soma, Caturmasya and the great rites. Siddhi, the wife of Bhaga, bore Mahiman, Vibhu and Prabhu, dear one, and a daughter, Asis, shapely and steady in her vows. Dhatr's wives were Kuhu, Sinivali, Raka and Anumati, and they bore, in that order, Sayam, Darsa, Pratah and Purnamasa. The next after him begot on Kriya the fires called Purisya. Carsani belonged to Varuna, and in her Bhrgu was born a second time. And Valmiki, the great yogin, they say came out of an anthill. Agastya and Vasistha were the two sages born of Mitra and Varuna. The two of them spilled their seed into a pot in Urvasi's presence. On Revati Mitra begot Utsarga, Arista and Pippala.

Indra begot on Paulomi three sons, so we have heard: Jayanta, Rsabha, and third, dear one, Midhvan; the lord had these. Of the wide-strider, the god who by maya took the shape of a dwarf, Brhacchloka was born in his wife Kirti, and Saubhaga and the rest were his. The deeds and qualities and strength of that great-souled son of Kasyapa we shall tell later, and how he came down in Aditi.
