38With these prayers, and calling him first to be present, one should worship the lord of the senses, filled with trust, with water for the feet and the touching and the rest. 39Having worshipped him with scent and garlands and the rest, he should bathe the mighty one in milk; then with cloth and sacred thread and ornaments, with water for the feet and the touching, and with scent and incense and the rest, he should worship him with the twelve-syllable knowledge. 40The food set before him is rice boiled in milk, where there is means for it, given with clarified butter and raw sugar; and he should pour the offering into the fire with the root prayer.
41What has been offered he should give to one devoted to him, or eat himself. Having given water to rinse the mouth and worshipped again, he should offer betel. 42He should say the prayer a hundred and eight times and praise the lord with hymns; then, walking round him with the god on his right, he should bow to the ground in gladness, stretched out like a staff. 43Putting what is left of the offering on his head, he should then send the god away; and he should feed brahmins, two at the least, with the milk-rice, as is fitting.
