6Salutation to you of the fair nave, the embankment that holds up all dharma, the comet of ruin to the demons whose habit is wrongdoing. Guard of the three worlds, of unmixed brightness, swift as thought, whose work is a wonder: I sing of you. 7By your burning power, which is made of dharma, the darkness is gathered up, and there is light for the sight of great souls. Your greatness is not to be got past, lord of speech. This is your form: what is and what is not, the far and the near. 8When you are let go, Unconquered one, by him on whom no stain lies, you enter the army of the Daityas and Danavas, cutting arms and bellies and thighs and feet and necks without stopping, and you shine out in the fighting.
9You, guard of the world, are the all-enduring one, appointed by the bearer of the mace for the ending of the wicked. Do good to this brahmin too, for what our family holds for its god is the brahmin, and that will be a favour to us. 10If anything has been given by us, or offered, or if our own duty has been well carried out, and if our family holds the brahmin for its god, then let this twice-born man be free of the fever. 11If the Bhagavan, who is one and the resting place of every excellence, is pleased with us for holding him to be the self of every being, then let this twice-born man be free of the fever.
