27Dvimidha's son was Yavinara, and his son is remembered as Krtiman, by name Satyadhrti. His son was Drdhanemi, and then Suparsvakrt. 28From Suparsva came Sumati, whose son was Sannatiman, and after him Krti, who got yoga from Hiranyanabha and sang six 29collections of the eastern Saman chants. Then Nipa, and after him Udgrayudha; his son was Ksemya, then Suvira, and Suvira's son was Ripunjaya. 30After him came one named Bahuratha. Purumidha had no offspring. By Nalini, Ajamidha had Nila, and Nila's son was Santi. 31Santi's son was Susanti, and his son Puruja, and after him came Arka. His son was Bharmyasva, and he had five sons headed by Mudgala.
32Yavinara, Brhadisu, Kampilla and Samjaya were the sons. Bharmyasva said: these five sons of mine are able to guard 33five territories. So they came to be called the Pancalas. From Mudgala a brahmin line came about, the clan named Maudgalya.
