The nectar of your story· Verses 9–12

The nectar of your story is life to those who burn; the poets have praised it; it takes away stain; it is auspicious to hear; it is full of splendour and it goes far. Those on earth who speak it out are the great givers. Your laughter, your loving look at the one you love, your playing about: they are auspicious to hold in the mind. And the words spoken in secret, that touch the heart, shake our minds, you cheat. When you go out from Vraja driving the animals, master, our minds go thick and tangled, beloved, at the thought that your foot, lovely as a lotus, is hurt by the sharp stones and the blades of grass. At the day's end you come with your lotus face covered over with dark curls and thick with dust, and by showing it to us again and again you put desire into our minds, hero.
