Ah, master, dear one, you who knew dharma, kind, tender to those who have no one: you being killed, we are killed too, and your house and your children with us. Bull among men, this city, parted from you who were its husband, has no beauty left, any more than we have; its festivals and its auspicious rites are over. You did a heavy harm to beings who had done nothing at all. And so you have been brought to this. Who that does violence to beings ever finds peace? For he is the coming to be and the going out of all beings here, and their keeper; and a man who thinks lightly of him never thrives in comfort anywhere.
