The king heard what the twice-born said, knew the heart of the assembly, and glad, overcome with affection, did honour to the lord of the senses. He washed his two feet and carried that water, which makes the worlds clean, on his head gladly, with his wife and his younger brothers, his ministers and his household. He honoured him with cloths of yellow silk and with ornaments of great price, and his eyes were so full of tears that he could not look straight at him. Seeing him honoured so, all the people folded their hands and bowed to him with homage and with victory, and showers of flowers came down.
