8When the priests and the men of the assembly, the learned and the closest friends, had been well satisfied with true words, with honours and with fees, and when the Caidya had entered the foot of the lord of the Satvatas, they went and made the closing bath in the river of heaven. 9Drums and conches, small drums and dhundhuris, kettledrums and horns, and instruments of many wonderful kinds, sounded at the festival of the closing bath. 10The dancing women danced in their delight and the singers sang in bands, and the high sound of their lutes and flutes and clapping hands touched heaven. 11The kings went out wearing chains of gold, with great elephants and chariots and horses topped with many-coloured banners and flags, and with foot soldiers finely adorned.
12The Yadus, Srnjayas, Kambojas, Kurus, Kekayas and Kosalas made the earth shake with their armies, and the man who was holding the sacrifice went in front of them. 13The men of the assembly, the priests and the best of the twice-born, with much sounding of Brahman, and the sages of the gods, the fathers and the gandharvas, sang his praise and rained flowers down.
