They kill their own self· Verses 16–18

।

।

।

Those who have not reached aloneness, and those who have gone past dullness, who go by the three ends and have not a moment to spare: they are the ones who kill their own self. These are killers of the self, never quiet, taking themselves for knowing while they are ignorant. They sink down with their work undone, their daydreams broken up by time. Leaving behind house and children, friends and wealth, all of them built up with great toil, they go into the dark unwilling, having turned their faces from Vasudeva.
